There are a few ways to verify if your vessel is US Coast Guard Documented. If your vessel has a name and hailing port marked on the hull, you may search the information via the Coast Guard Port State Information Exchange System, or PSIX.

It is also recommended to have the Hull Identification Number available prior to your search. You can usually find this number stamped into the vessel’s hull on the starboard side of the transom.

Lastly, you may have a vessel Official Number placard located belowdecks. This will be fastened to the hull, and will have a NO. preceding a 6-7 digit number.

Federally Documented vessels have Certificates of Documentation (CG-1270). If the Certificate has passed 30 days of expiration, you may Reinstate the Documentation via the link below:
