Coast Guard Documented vessels do not have titles; they simply require a notarized CG-1340 Bill of Sale and completion of the Transfer of Documentation (CG-1258) webform (completed by the purchaser) to complete the sale of the vessel and to document the vessel in your name. The purchaser may elect to have multiple years of Documentation, 5 years being the maximum. If you are the seller, your obligation is to complete the notarized Bill of Sale.
