In order to add family members as owners of a US Coast Guard Documented vessel, a notarized CG-1340 Bill of Sale must be completed with each family member receiving the stated percentage of equity. For this example, if you are the sole owner and wish to add your son and spouse, you would complete a notarized CG-1340 Bill of Sale, transferring 33% to your spouse and 33% to your son.
