You are permitted to use either a notarized CG-1340 Bill of Sale to complete the transfer, or the back side of the Certificate of Documentation CG-1270, whichever you prefer. Both are accepted as valid legal forms of Bills of Sale for Coast Guard Documented vessels. As indicated, both require notarization to be valid.
